Overview
Second place winner in LGBTQ+ Historical Fiction from The BookFest, Spring 2025.
Tadaaki has always struggled with faith since his mother died when he was a small child. The fact that he was blamed for her death out of a lack of faith pushed him further away from God and his father, a pastor. Then years later, he finds himself faithless once more, after his brother is killed in a car accident. Rejected by his father and pushed to the end of himself, Tadaaki runs off to his father's church to give God a peace of his mind. Only when God answers Tadaaki wakes up in 1600 AD war torn Japan. There, he is found by a young samurai named Sato Michi, who instantly thinks Tadaaki is the answer to his own prayers - a way to escape from his jealous, overbearing lover.
