Movie Reviews
Synopsis:
Ruth Loomis has just made history -- she's the first female judge appointed to the Supreme Court. A woman's presence shakes things up on the bench, but it is Loomis's staunch conservative views that ruffle liberal Justice Dan Snow. Although the two magistrates clash over subjects such as pornography, they nonetheless find themselves attracted to each other. Will romance be sworn in? Or will Cupid be held in contempt of court?
Notes:
Color by Metrocolor; shot in Panavision.
By coincidence, President Reagan appointed Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court shortly before this film was released. She was the first woman justice so honored.
Reviews:
"...[Matthau is] rumpled and likeable as ever..." - 08/19/1981 Variety
