From Fall to Spring
Overview
It's 1974 and Pedram Azad's long-awaited dream has come true - he's been appointed to teach English at a secondary school in Tabriz. It means leaving his beloved grandmother at home in Tehran, but he goes off to his first job with her blessing. In Tabriz, Pedram makes new friends and falls in love with an Armenian girl. Life has never been so good.
But when the Shah is ousted by the Ayatollah, everything in Iran changes. The Islamic Revolution brings suspicion, divided loyalties, executions, unspeakable cruelty and hardship to what was once a prosperous, culturally rich, forward-looking country. As Pedram's friends and family slowly disappear, he is forced to make some difficult decisions about his own life, and in doing so, he comes to a new understanding of himself.
From Fall to Spring charts one young man's journey from darkness to light, from repression to freedom, from a kind of half life to a new beginning.
