The Glow of the Abyss
Overview
Some places never leave us. Some secrets were never meant to be found.
Renato arrives at Boa Vista Farm with his daughter, Alice, seeking solitude, silence, and a chance to begin again.
But something is wrong there.
The animals begin to behave strangely. The sky takes on an impossible hue. And a blue glow appears where there should be no light at all.
Renato searches for a rational explanation, but each new discovery draws him closer to something that defies science, logic, and everything he thought he understood.
When the military arrives in the region and the farm ceases to be merely a refuge, Renato realizes that the danger may be far greater than he ever imagined.
And it may already be too late to leave.
Set in southern Minas Gerais, The Glow of the Abyss blends rural horror, psychological horror, supernatural suspense, and dark science fiction in a distinctly Brazilian story.
Inspired by the lore surrounding the Varginha Incident, the cesium-137 radiological accident, and stories of the Chupacabra, the novel transforms familiar references into a new tale of contamination, fear, isolation, and inexplicable phenomena.
At the heart of it all is the bond between a father and daughter struggling to stay together as the world around them begins to disobey every rule they know.
Some things remain hidden because no one has found them.
And some remain hidden because someone made sure they were buried.
For readers of Brazilian horror, cosmic horror, rural horror, body horror, supernatural mystery, psychological suspense, and science fiction.
Step into Boa Vista Farm.
And discover what glows in the dark.
