How to Clone a President : The Curious Case of Washulysses Lincgarfeagon the First
Overview
Howard Pressman was supposed to be a respectable scientist.
Instead, after one late-night shopping spiral and a series of deeply questionable historical purchases, he accidentally creates Washulysses Lincgarfeagon the First - a clone made from presidential DNA, mysterious contamination, and enough ambition to frighten a zoning board.
Washulysses immediately declares himself president, appoints a cuckoo clock as his vice president, founds the Garage Republic, and begins a campaign of patriotic confusion that sends the neighborhood - and eventually CORN, the Community Organization for Regulated Normalcy - into full bureaucratic panic.
But beneath the stovepipe hat, speeches, memes, garage diplomacy, and laundry-basket space program, Washulysses is trying to understand something much bigger than leadership.
He is trying to understand himself.
Absurd, satirical, and surprisingly tender, How to Clone a President is a comic novel about science gone wrong, normalcy gone mad, and one impossible man's quest to become more than the pieces that made him.
