How Long The Season : A Poem Anthology
Overview
The seasons of our lives are relatively short-some bright, some shadowed, all of them passing quicker than we expect. The poems in How Long The Season come from walking through those seasons with open eyes and an imperfect and somewhat cynical but very willing heart. They speak of love remembered, profound grief carried, faith tested, and the simple dignity of trying to keep going. The pain of unrequited as well as fulfilled love are the subjects of many of these poems as well. Most of the poems are of the rhyming genre due to my reading and adherence to the old masters of poesy, W. B. Yeats being the greatest influence. I think rhyming poetry, while difficult to write, is the most beautiful form of English language expression.
These pages aren't meant to impress. They are meant to share. And if you find comfort or companionship in these words, then I'll be grateful that our paths have crossed, even for a moment.
