{ "item_title" : "Iniciaciones = Initiations", "item_author" : [" Israel Centeno "], "item_description" : "An original and passionate novel exploring adolescence and a little-known moment in Latin American history, this work employs a peculiar linguistic style, poetic but visceral, to tell us a familiar story about sex, hatred, and alienation that inscribes itself in the saga of brilliant short novels that Latin American literature has come to offer us during this past century. The voices of the main characters echo long after the story's conclusion, and their jumbled lives, between the country and the city, between ravines and the more bohemian neighborhoods in Paris, adjust themselves like the perfect puzzle pieces of a vigorous and acidic chronicle of the second half of the twentieth century. Una original y apasionante indagación novelística en el universo de la adolescencia y en un momento poco conocido de la historia de América Latina, esta obra emplea un lenguaje particular, poético pero también desgarrado, para contarnos una historia familiar de sexo, odio y extrañeza que se inscribe en la gran saga de brillantes novelas cortas que ha ofrecido la literatura latinoamericana durante el último siglo. Las voces de los principales personajes de este libro resuenan mucho tiempo después de acabar la lectura dentro de nosotros, y sus confusas vidas, entre el mundo rural y la ciudad, entre las quebradas y los barrios más bohemios de París, se ajustan como piezas perfectas de una crónica vigorosa y ácida de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.", "item_img_path" : "https://covers1.booksamillion.com/covers/bam/8/49/347/467/8493474673_b.jpg", "price_data" : { "retail_price" : "14.95", "online_price" : "14.95", "our_price" : "14.95", "club_price" : "14.95", "savings_pct" : "0", "savings_amt" : "0.00", "club_savings_pct" : "0", "club_savings_amt" : "0.00", "discount_pct" : "10", "store_price" : "" } }
