The Salem, Massachusetts-based owner of metaphysical superstore HausWitch, Feldmann knows exactly how curious people are about witchcraft, and she’s geared this book toward all of them. It’s filled with rituals and tips for setting intentions, like creating passwords that reflect personal affirmations so you’re forced to type them out regularly. Feldmann swears that her income doubled on two separate occasions, and credits each shift with regularly keying in a password that she crafted to reflect her aspirational salary. Intention Obsession is organized around seasons, which makes it easy to dip in to when your daily rituals need a little boost. But it’s also intensely researched, so you wouldn’t be blamed for reading it cover-to-cover, either. Photography from Christy Czajkowski gives the volume a cohesive visual element that is both feminine and deep—I’m reminded of the camp-tastic 2016 Anna Biller film The Love Witch—and the breadth of the advice is reminiscent of icons like comedian Amy Sedaris and longtime Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown. You can find instructions for everything from concocting magical sun teas to organizing a dream portal on your nightstand.
