Intolerance : Short True Fiction
Overview
In Line Up, Kane, the undisputed leader of the 5th grade class at Ha Eretz Hebrew Day School has become 'drunk with power'. When Shem discovers a coup to overthrow Kane he becomes torn by his advantageous allegiance to the 10 year old tyrant, and what is best for the group. In Spectacle, a group of 7th grade Hebrew Day School boys leave the Holocaust Museum deeply reflective about their own mortality and ethics only to encounter hostile anti-semitism on the way home. Bolstered by their experience, the boys flex their intolerance of oppression to the brink. And in doing so, they discover a very dark side of their own personalities.
