Movie Reviews
Reviews:
"Jared Leto, who admittedly has had a lot of practice, knows how to give a state-of-the-art performance as the kind of diabolical screw-loose sleaze you love to loathe. He anchors the best sequence in THE LITTLE THINGS..." - 01/26/2021 Variety
"The psychological toll of investigative police work seeps into the bones of John Lee Hancock's gritty neo-noir THE LITTLE THINGS, which captures Los Angeles County's flat urban sprawl and snaking freeways to highly atmospheric effect." - 01/26/2021 Hollywood Reporter
"[With] some striking L.A. cinematography, and an effective score....THE LITTLE THINGS becomes a cat and mouse game between the two detectives and the creepiest guy in L.A." - 01/29/2021 RogerEbert.com
"[S]tarring Denzel Washington as a weary professional with keen instincts and a battered conscience, THE LITTLE THINGS is an unapologetic throwback. It broods over the psychologically and spiritually damaging effects of police work..." - 01/28/2021 New York Times
"Now pushing 70, his hair dotted with more salt than pepper, Washington fits the profile of an old pro resisting retirement; his comfort with playing his age, rather than masking it, makes him the ideal fit for this shopworn role." - 01/26/2021 A.V. Club
3 stars out of 5 -- "[THE LITTLE THINGS] knows it has a job to do, and it does that job well. It entertains." - 01/29/2021 Rolling Stone
3.5 stars out of 4 -- "[A] disturbingly effective work with masterful performances from a triad of Oscar winners in prime form." - 01/27/2021 Chicago Sun-Times
3 stars out of 5 -- "[Hancock's] use of colour is bold: green is threaded through THE LITTLE THINGS like a trail of clues -- the eyes of a victim, the pistachio paintwork of a suspect’s car, the throbbing emerald of Joe’s hotel room breakdown." - 03/13/2021 The Guardian
