Overview
A grisly death on a Seattle highway is linked to a closed, international case. Or it is? Woodinville police officer and part-time winemaker Kally O'Keefe revisits Operation Light Source, the Op that uncovered prostitution in her community and consumed her time. But the federal government had jurisdiction in the matter--underage foreign girls, illegal entry into the US, possible sex trafficking up and down the west coast. No one knows who the recently deceased young woman is but similarities to Operation Light Source are too glaring to ignore--age of the victim, eastern European ancestry, a small photo ID with a number, which all the women, past and present, carried. Cracking the number's provenance and parsing the young woman's identity are signature goals for Kally and the Woodinville force along with colleagues in the Seattle Police Department.
