Overview
Lucy is still getting used to life with Lucky.
The little white puppy runs into everything, chews on whatever he can find, slides across the floor, makes messes, and cannot even jump onto the couch. To make matters worse, Lucky always wants Dad's attention and Lucy is not very happy about sharing.
Then Lucy remembers something important: she used to be a puppy too.
Instead of staying frustrated, Lucy decides to become Lucky's teacher. She helps him practice the stairs, shows him how to guard the yard, teaches him about birds and squirrels, and encourages him as he tries to find his bark. Along the way, Lucy discovers that patience, kindness, and a little understanding can turn an annoying puppy into a very special friend.
Lucy and the Puppy is a warm and humorous picture book about empathy, patience, sibling relationships, and helping someone who is still learning.
Perfect for children ages 3-7, dog-loving families, classrooms, and bedtime reading, this heartwarming story encourages conversations about:
- Adjusting to a new puppy or sibling
- Sharing attention with someone new
- Patience and understanding
- Teaching and encouraging others
- Learning through practice
- Empathy and friendship
- Growing together as a family
A sweet addition to the Lucy series, Lucy and the Puppy reminds young readers that everyone starts out small-and sometimes the best friendships begin when we choose to help.
