This is only a part of the apostle's ministry. His ministry serves as a reflection of Christ's ministry to the Church. Consequently, the apostle's character must be solid. Therefore, God will take the apostles through tests, trials, and temptations in order to prepare them for ministry. The training of an apostle is oftentimes humiliating.
