The Man in the Dark
Overview
On a night when fog chokes the London streets, a blind and penniless former soldier stumbles through the dark, his last hope a visit to an old friend that ends in bitter quarrel. Lost and desperate, he is stopped by a stranger in a fur-lined coat who offers five pounds for a simple task: sit behind a screen in a dim study and rustle papers as silent proof that the man is not alone.
The job turns deadly when a violent confrontation erupts between the stranger and a visitor. A woman's scream, a struggle in darkness, and a body on the floor. The blind witness wakes in a moving motorcar, driven by a mysterious woman who seems determined to hide him from the police and from a killer who believes he saw too much.
As the car races through the early morning countryside, the blind man must decipher who she is, what she wants, and whether he can trust her-before the truth claims another life.
