Model Reduction and Optimal Control in Field-Flow Fractionation
Overview
The discretization of optimization problems governed by a coupled system of equations in the context of field flow fractionation leads to high dimensional systems. As the computation of solutions for the occurring optimization problems is expensive, model reduction techniques for the accompanying equations are developed and used in this work. Furthermore, the existence of an optimal solution of the given optimization problems is proven. Numerical experiments illustrate the chosen approaches.
