The Nowhere Inn
Overview
Bill Benz directs this mockumentary-meets-metafiction story starring the film's screenwriters, Annie Clark and Carrie Brownstein, who play fictionalized versions of themselves. Carrie, a Portlandia sketch TV comedian and guitarist of the rock band Sleater-Kinney, tries to make a make-or-break documentary about her friend Annie, known mostly to the world as popular singer-songwriter St. Vincent. Carrie follows Annie around during St. Vincent's Masseduction album tour, where they clash due to personal and artistic reasons. Co-starring Ezra Buzzington and Dakota Johnson.
