Movie Reviews

Reviews:
3 stars out of 4 -- "ONE DAY has style, freshness, and witty bantering dialogue." - 08/17/2011 Chicago Sun-Times

"[S]urprisingly profound....The central concept, so absorbing as a literary device, translates surprisingly well to the screen." - 08/26/2011 USA Today

"Scherfig makes the most of each segment, cleverly introduced by on-screen titles that blend into each new scene. She zeroes in on quick dialogue exchanges or transitional elements to establish new situations and priorities..." - 08/17/2011 Hollywood Reporter

3 stars out of 5 -- "[Hathaway] brings a vulnerable edge to her prickly character....ONE DAY isn't a story about the big moments -- it's about the almost-moments, the near misses..." - 09/01/2011 Total Film

"Scherfig's polished period piece smoothes out some of the novel's rougher edges...but also infuses it with the same warmth, wit and understatement the director brought to her 2008 adaptation of Lynn Barber's AN EDUCATION." - 09/01/2011 Sight and Sound
