One Night in Miami
Overview
It is 1964, and Cassius Clay (Eli Goree) has just clinched the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World title. Because of segregation laws, instead of partying in Miami Beach to celebrate his win, he finds himself in the Hampton House Motel with some of his closest friends: Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge), Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), and Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.). During their time together, they discuss their roles in the fight for civil rights and the advancement of American society toward racial equality. They emerge determined to change the world around them. Directed by Regina King.
