This is the history of that earlier, separate, now defunct Bills team that played in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) from 1946 to 1949. This original Bills club was one of the AAFC's strongest teams in its final two seasons, 1948 and 1949. When the AFL granted Buffalo an expansion franchise in 1959, its owner named the new team Bills as a tribute to this earlier club, but the two franchises are institutionally unrelated -- different ownership, different league lineage, separated by a decade. This book covers the original team's three seasons in full: its formation, rosters, game results, and its place in pro football history before the AAFC folded and merged into the NFL.", "item_img_path" : "https://covers2.booksamillion.com/covers/bam/0/78/644/619/0786446196_b.jpg", "price_data" : { "retail_price" : "29.95", "online_price" : "29.95", "our_price" : "29.95", "club_price" : "29.95", "savings_pct" : "0", "savings_amt" : "0.00", "club_savings_pct" : "0", "club_savings_amt" : "0.00", "discount_pct" : "10", "store_price" : "" } }
