Over the Edge
Overview
A brilliant commentary on the restlessness of America's youth. By trying to keep the "fun" out of New Grenada, the parents are only adding fuel to the fire. When a misunderstanding causes the death of a mischievous, yet harmless, teenager, the students rebel, inciting a riot that the parents and authorities are unable to control. The screen debut of the then unknown Dillon, with a soundtrack (The Ramones, Cheap Trick) that adds even more energy and power to an already impassioned, tightly-woven script.

Movie Reviews
Synopsis:
The suburban enclave of New Grenada appears to be quiet and idyllic. But for its teenage residents, it is a wasteland, where there is nothing to do, and literally nowhere to go. As a result, many of them have turned to using drugs and committing crimes. And Carl, a young, decent, but impressionable teen, is about to fall under these influences, guided by his older "friend" Richie. Will Carl allow himself to become another one of New Grenada's aimless, rebellious youth? Or will he realize what a poor example Richie and his friends are?
Notes:
Film debut for actor Matt Dillon.
