{ "item_title" : "Paper Bag Princess", "item_author" : [" Robert Munsch "], "item_description" : "In the story, the princess and the prince are about to live happily ever after, but the fire dragon swipes the prince away and burns the castle to the ground. The princess puts on a paper bag and bravely chases after the dragon to rescue the prince. The princess used her wit to defeat the fire dragon. However, the prince disliked the princess for her rags. The princess was furious and scolded the prince for being a useless fellow, and then ran away. This story reverses the image of the prince and princess in previous fairy tales. Firstly, the princess is shown to be more intelligent and powerful. In traditional fairy tales, the princess waits for the prince to save her, but this fairy tale completely switches the two roles. Secondly, the princess is more assertive. When the prince blames the princess, the princess immediately returns the favor and abandons him without hesitation.
