{ "item_title" : "Pentecost and Me", "item_author" : [" Bishoy Kamel "], "item_description" : "Most Christians have heard of the Holy Spirit. Few feel they actually know Him. Pentecost and Me gathers the Pentecost sermons of Fr Bishoy Kamel, translated into English for the first time, for everyone who knows about the Holy Spirit but longs to live in His presence.Fr Bishoy Kamel, one of the most loved priests of the Coptic Orthodox Church, preached these sermons in the 1970s to ordinary congregations in Egypt. He spoke as a pastor, not a scholar, and his directness has kept his words alive for more than four decades. His central message is simple and uncommon: the Holy Spirit does not merely help you become a better version of yourself. He takes what belongs to Christ, His love, His purity, His peace, and gives it to you. The change is not improvement. It is transformation.The sermons are arranged as one journey in four parts: The human problem: why willpower cannot do what only the Spirit can do.The person of the Holy Spirit, met through the great images of Scripture and Coptic tradition: the fire that purifies, the living water that flows from within, the dove.Practical guidance: what opens the way to the Spirit and what blocks it, what grieves and quenches Him, what true repentance is, and how to be led by the Spirit at home, at work, in marriage and in the parish.Vision: the saints were not exceptional people but surrendered ones, and the Spirit does the same for every baptised Christian.No background in Orthodox Christianity is needed. If you are meeting the Coptic Orthodox tradition for the first time, this is a warm introduction to its spirit. If you grew up in it and find its feasts distant or routine, it will remind you what they are for. The Spirit came at Pentecost, and stayed.", "item_img_path" : "https://covers2.booksamillion.com/covers/bam/1/76/458/055/1764580559_b.jpg", "price_data" : { "retail_price" : "22.00", "online_price" : "22.00", "our_price" : "22.00", "club_price" : "22.00", "savings_pct" : "0", "savings_amt" : "0.00", "club_savings_pct" : "0", "club_savings_amt" : "0.00", "discount_pct" : "10", "store_price" : "" } }
