Overview
A storm-damaged gorge. A crumbling ledge. An impossible rescue requiring two extraordinary powers.
Ellie and Ollie meet a frightened mother wallaby whose joey is trapped on the opposite side of a deep woodland gorge. The storm has destroyed the rocky path, floodwater covers the lower crossing and an old fallen tree no longer reaches the other side.
Far across the mist-filled gap, the little joey crouches on a narrow ledge that is beginning to crack.
Ellie could use her mysterious power to cross the gorge-but thick mist hides the ground, making it impossible to choose a safe destination. Ollie's golden-white eye-light briefly reveals the ledge, yet the glowing fog creates confusing shadows and false images.
Then Ollie discovers another possibility. By connecting with the joey's thoughts, he can see the ledge through its eyes.
Ollie holds one clear picture of pale stone, curled leaves and a tiny white flower. Ellie trusts the image and leaps through the green light to reach the joey.
Bringing it home will require more than another jump. The terrified joey must trust Ellie, Ellie must trust Ollie's picture and all three must focus on one shared destination before the ledge collapses beneath them.
