Statistical data show that 70%-80% of TVEs were established within villages, and the majority of migrant workers settled in economically developed rural areas. This phenomenon drew the attention of sociological researchers. Between 1992 and 1998, the author of this book conducted in-depth investigations into several typical super villages, including: - Lian Village, Bei Village, and Tang Village in the Sunan region (southern Jiangsu), - Feng Village along the coastal area of Guangdong, - Pan Village in southern Fujian, - Jia Village and Yi Village in central and western China.
