Overview
Privacy Settings interrogates the places and spaces where digital privacy and surveillance are in tension as well as the choices users make to retake control in material ways. Across this collection of unique and thought-provoking contributions, each author adopts the Digital Rhetorical Privacy Collective's ethos of bridging public and scholarly conversation about privacy and surveillance to engender widespread coalitional action. Organized into three sections: Public Places, Bodily Borders, and Learning Landscapes, this collection insists upon careful conversations and intentional action across the various settings and situations in which privacy is curtailed by surveillance. Readers of Privacy Settings will learn about the importance of attending to their individual privacy and will be challenged to consider how working collectively to achieve privacy is a way forward in these divisive, aggressive, and digitally mediated times.
