Reflections of Me
Overview
The old man watches as the young boy saunters across the field to practice his first field goal. The old man's grandson (Richard) and he eventually help the young boy to kick properly. Stacie, the young boy's mother, eventually falls in love with Richard. The young boy, who has ADD and struggles in school, vehemently rejects Richard in order to protect the memory of his father, that he unquestionably loved, who suffered from PTSD.The young boy eventually takes off on Saturday without leaving a note to his mother, while his mother was called into work on her day off; and she and Richard frantically search for him at every playfield in Sedona, Arizona. Needless to say, his mother is furious with him for leaving the house while she was at work. The old man spews out a lot of philosophical sayings to both Derrick and his grandson, but mostly to Derrick-which soothes over his rejection of Richard and better understands his mother's need for companionship. In the mix, we have Dakota, a dog who worships the ground on which the old man walks on; a gift from his only grandson.
