Independent Book Reviews calls it, A touching end of the world story filled with hope and beauty.Twenty-five years have passed since the fall of man. During this time, the world has slid into a pre-industrial version of itself. On the tiny island of Cedar Key, a close-knit community leans on each other and lessons from their ancestors to survive in a world set against them. On a chilly February morning, a thousand man army arrives at the island's shore, claiming to represent the reconstituted American government. New mayor Luke Buck must decide whether to submit to the army's control or make a stand for self-determination and lead the resistance.
