After the war, he returned home to make a family with Jolly. Aaron would remain a Marine, eventually rising to the rank of Master Sergeant before the Korean conflict brought him again to war. He served courageously in battle until enemy mortar fire took one of his lungs. Following his three-year recovery, he received an honorable discharge and returned to civilian life to became a good father, husband, and grandfather.
