Overview
Charleston, 1828. A young private named Edgar A. Perry, who is really Edgar Allan Poe, falls in love with a cotton factor's daughter among the graves of a wild churchyard on Archdale Street. Her father locks her in her room. The fever comes off the ships. She dies calling for him, and is buried in that same churchyard without a stone. Two hundred years later, Claire and Owen Carver come east from the Colorado plains to save a marriage that has gone quiet. On a night carriage tour they hear the legend of Annabel Lee, the girl who still walks the churchyard looking for the soldier who never found her grave. That night, Owen takes his late father's old film camera back to the gate. When he develops the roll at home, only one frame shows anything. A girl's face between the iron bars, yellow with fever, crying blood. And she has come home with them. A haunting, historically grounded ghost story of grief, love and a promise kept.
