Synopsis:
The Man of Steel made his first leap from the boob tube to the big screen in this celluloid adventure.
Bespectacled newsman Clark Kent arrives in a small Midwestern town to do a story on an unusually deep oil well. Soon he discovers that the hole leads to a subterranean realm inhabited by a race of radioactive misfits.
Though these creatures pose their own threat, Clark -- and his caped alter ego -- must also contend with an angry mob of local yokels...
Notes:
Actor George Reeves also played Superman in the original television series. Tragically, he committed suicide after the program ended.
Some conspiracy enthusiasts find his death to be part of a larger phenomenon. This so-called "Superman Curse," believers claim, also explains the crippling accident of the 1970-80's "Superman," Christopher Reeve, as well as the mental breakdown of the 1970-80's "Lois Lane," Margot Kidder -- among other ill-fated incidents.
A Lippert release.
