Symbols of Infection : The Story of Immunity
Overview
The major concepts of immunology have been laboriously worked out, but they have also become painfully complex. I wrote this little book because I couldn't find one like it. It is an effort to paint the most modern concepts with a broad brush in a somewhat linear fashion. As can be seen in the table of contents, each chapter answers the most pressing questions in an overarching manner. These questions have largely only been answered in the last 20 years, but the answers have snowballed and lead to a revolution in the knowledge of immunology that has been paralleled by advances in recombinant molecule (biologics) manufacture as used to modulate wayward immune responses including in cancer, infection and autoimmunity.
