Syntactic Differences in Sentence Formation : English-Spanish
Overview
One of the main syntactic differences between English and Spanish is the order of the words or constituents, as well as that some of them are compulsory in English, such as "the subject" or "auxiliary verbs" in certain structures. This work deals with comparing some English syntactic structures in order to revise their proprieties and contrast them with those from Spanish.First of all, we are going to review some theory about syntax, for later, analyse the structures of the sentences, firstly in English and after that in Spanish. We will try to contrast the information in order to obtain some analytical data. The aim of this work is to be able to have an analytical contrast of how speakers of each language "build" sentences in order to express their ideas.
