A Table For Two : Aboard The Cockington Express
Overview
London to Plymouth, autumn 1958. Alice Scott boards the four-thirty train with twenty pounds to her name and nowhere to go.
By the time the Cockington Express rolls into Devon she has a new job, a new home, and a new employer - Samual Portman, Count of Devon, whose ex-wife Lady Elizabeth has just been found dead in the stables of Cockington Manor.
But who could have committed such a heinous crime?
Inspector Findlay is already on the train, and the staff at the Manor are about to give him no shortage of suspects: a hostile companion, a sacked footman, a kitchen full of unpaid wages, and a dead woman whose secrets ran deeper than anyone knew.
But not everyone on the four-thirty train was who they claimed to be - and one of them has been watching Samual Portman for a very long time.
The third book in the Inspector Findlay Mysteries returns to Cockington with a fresh murder, a tangled cast, and a final twist even the Inspector didn't see coming.
