Synopsis:
"Tampopo" is a collection of comedic episodes, movie parodies, and sight gags about the pleasures of food. The widow Tampopo wants to revitalize her noodle shop by learning to prepare the ultimate bowl of noodles. But her cooking falls short... until a kindly truck driver, himself a noodle connoisseur, comes to her rescue.

Screened at the Museum of Modern Art's New Directors/New Films series for 1986. Additional cast: Fukumi Kuroda (Mistress of the man in white suit), Setsuko Shinoi (Rich old man's mistress), and Yoriko Doguchi (Girl catching oysters) Co-produced by Itami Productions, New Century Producers. "Tampopo" is Japanese for "dandelion."
