Synopsis:
In California, the Wetherly family hears a news broadcast about a nuclear explosion on the east coast. Soon after, their small town of Hamlin experiences a communications blackout as the west coast is attacked. The local ham radio operator finds he cannot pick up signals from anywhere east of Iowa. World War III has started. The residents attempt to survive in isolation from the rest of the country, but gradually the radiation fallout takes its toll. Some flee, but the Wetherlys stay and try to cope with the effects of nuclear holocaust.

Feature film debut for producer/director Lynne Littman. She previously directed programs for television.
