Is That DiMaggio? - by Nick Brigeman

Thirteen-year-old Dave Cashman loves baseball almost as much as he hates middle school bullies. When he discovers a 1941 Joe DiMaggio card in mint condition, he thinks he's finally caught a break. But when the school bully, Kyle "The Crusher" Marks, threatens to destroy the card unless Dave scores Yankees tickets, everything spirals out of control.

Then the impossible happens.

The DiMaggio card glows, hums, and - somehow - opens a portal. Suddenly, Joltin' Joe himself is standing in Dave's bedroom, and with him comes an even bigger problem: the Card World, where baseball's greatest legends live forever, is fading fast.

Now Dave must summon the courage to face his fears, protect the card, save the magic of the game - and maybe, just maybe, finally stand up to Kyle.

Sometimes, the toughest games aren't played on the field.
