He was a visiting scholar at the Department of Geography, The Ohio State University, USA from 2012 to 2013, and studied land consolidation and rural development in Germany in 2016. He is currently a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Central China Normal University, and a member of the College Academic Committee. He is also a member of the Expert Pool of the Land Consolidation Center, Ministry of Natural Resources; Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Committee of Experts on Protected Natural Areas and Leader of the Project and Engineering Management Group; and a member of the Expert Pool of the Department of Natural Resources of Hubei Province.
