The Truffle Hunters
Overview
This documentary spotlights the unique bond between aging truffle hunters and their dogs in the picturesque forests of Piedmont, Italy. The 70-year-old hunters pursue the rare and expensive white Alba truffle, a gourmet ingredient that can fetch hefty sums at auctions, partly because of their refusal to impart their expertise to a new generation. Directed and produced by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw.
