Vibration Analysis of Timoshenko Beams And Rectangular Mindlin Plates
Overview
Complex structures in engineering are made up of simple structural members like beams, plates, and shells. Due to functional requirements, sometimes the structures can be slender or short in case of beams and thin or moderately thick in case of plates and shells. If these structural members are subjected to a severe dynamic environment they vibrate with large amplitudes. Understanding the fundamental frequency parameter will be advantageous in the design of structural members in the initial stages of design. A simplified formulation known as Coupled Displacement Field (CDF) method was developed to predict the linear and large amplitude free vibration behavior of shear flexible structural members.
