The Wandering Mendicant : The aim of this book is to relate some of the seemingly esoteric Vedantic concepts like 'Sat Chit Ananda' and 'Tat Twam Asi'
Overview
The wandering mendicant
He lost everything that meant anything to him in a catastrophic event. All that remained, as far as he knew, was nothing; other than the shell of a body.
What he had though, unbeknownst to him, was an ally that he had not realized he had, someone who could give meaning to his existence.
This is a story of how he befriended this unknown ally, thereby enabling himself to form an enduring new identity. The Inspiration for this story is drawn from the meaning of Self (Brahman), as detailed in the Brahma sutras, a foundational philosophical text that systematically organizes and lends a comprehensive meaning of Self. About the author
Mohan was drawn into Vedanta philosophy when seated at Swami Chinmayananda's feet in the nascent days of Chinmaya Ashram in Powai, India. Mohan was then an engineering student in the Indian Institute of Technology in Powai. The experience left him with an awe of spirituality and the urge to study Vedanta texts like the Bhagavad Gita; which he has done since then.
