Movie Reviews

Reviews:
"It’s meant as a firm compliment to say that THE WAY BACK looks and feels like a film that could have been made at any time between the early 1970s and right now." - 03/04/2020 Hollywood Reporter

"THE WAY BACK is a perfectly watchable movie." - 03/04/2020 Variety

"The basketball games are filmed with a thrilling sense of reality: the fans seem real, the refs seem real, the kids on the other team seem real." - 03/06/2020 RogerEbert.com

"Affleck performs drunkenness with conviction and specificity, all too aware that verisimilitude won’t come from the right speech-slurring. The brilliance lies in the little grace notes that feel painfully true..." - 03/04/2020 A.V. Club

3 stars out of 5 -- "[The film] has enough diversions from type to make it worth your while. It also has an MVP in Ben Affleck, who is as engaged and committed here as he has been for a long time..." - 07/09/2020 Empire
