Music Reviews
Editorial Reviews
Q (4/04, p.106) - 3 stars out of 5 - "[A]n atmospheric, multi-layered sound that's melodic and rhythmic but also moody and delicate."
Uncut (4/04, p.93) - 4 stars out of 5 - "[A]n astonishing violin virtuoso devoting himself almost entirely to pop music....Outstanding."
Magnet (6-7/03, p.84) - "...An atmospheric, serene and sometimes tense folk record crafted with wistful whistling and stylized violin playing..."
CMJ (07/07/03, p.7) - "...[Andrew Bird has] a vision that will cause fans of classical music, eccentric Americana and river-pirate country tunes to all sit up a bit in their chairs....A crooner for the young and old, the hip and the square, Mr. Bird is one swinging cat."
Mojo (Publisher) (3/04, p.100) - 4 stars out of 5 - "Such a beautiful record."
